“Our actions over the next 10 years will determine the state of the ocean for the next 10,000 years” ~ Sylvia Earle.

What can I do to take care of the ocean environment?

A Cancun vacation is a great time to put to use strategies for an ocean-friendly life. We all know we need to limit our use of disposable plastics, why not bring your own stainless steel straws and refillable mugs? Cancun and the Riviera Maya are banning the use of plastic bags, you’ll need a funky shopping bag or two, look for products made from recycled materials and a Made in Mexico label.

Instead of chemical sunscreen, wear a good hat, long-sleeved shirts, and enjoy the shade. If you must use a sunblock, be sure it is reef-friendly and free of nasty chemicals that are killing our corals.

“Each one of us can make a difference. Together we can make a change.” ~ Barbara Mikulski.

We encourage you to practice sustainable tourism when you travel, look for companies like Dolphinaris that contribute to the preservation of the environment, the education of all our visitors, local outreach programs with schools and research programs for continued efforts at conserving our ocean environment. Each time you swim with dolphins in Cancun you are helping the Dolphinaris Foundation protect the oceans.
